Gardner McClane grew up in the Chicago area and has also lived in 7 other cities soaking in their character and humanity. He has traveled extensively seeking adventures in 45 states and 18 countries. He has a Research Doctorate in Technical Science and has been a keynote speaker at international events and universities. Gardner has trained in multiple martial arts, taught self-defense, is a certified scuba diving instructor, and describes himself as a “gym rat.” He and his wife are avid rock climbers and hikers. A Likable, Engaging Tough Guy With An Internal Drive To “Make Things Right”

My name is Dodge Pulaski, and I am in the solutions management business. Basically, I solve problems for people. Not the kind of problem-solving that takes care of your income tax audit, but more in a field that requires unique skills of persuasion.
If I were a superhero, I’d be either the Silver Problem Solver or the Iron Get Evener. I know, not too catchy.
After the meeting and sitting in my car outside Millano’s, I try to get my arms around all this. Take on a Ukrainian drug gang. Are you crazy? What the hell have I got myself into? Note to self – do 10 Hail Marys and stop doing shit like this.
“You’ve been a busy solutions manager. I’m not sure anyone on the Police Force would have learned as much as you did in as short a time. Is it safe to assume you learned all this legally and did not infringe on anyone’s rights?” I smiled.
If you’re looking for a hero who quotes Chaucer, or Thoreau, or T.S. Eliot, boy, have you got the wrong guy. Bill Murray ranks close to the top of my sophistication level.
I’m beat up with a swollen jaw and maybe a couple loose teeth. My eye is closed and won’t open, and I have throbbing pain in the back of my head. And, of course, I’m still tied to this damn chair with heavy cable ties.
To summarize, I possess three skill sets: tough guy skills, scary, threatening guy skills, and just smart enough skills. I guess that makes me what you would call, a triple threat. Maybe I need to add that to my business card?
I bring him forward and slam him into the tree again. “You’re not listening. I have a few questions. You answer them, and you can go. You don’t, and they will find your limp, dead, bloody body hanging from one of these tree limbs. You got it?”
